Magnum photographer Micha Bar-Am is one of the best known photographers from Israel. Born in Germany in 1930, he went with his family to Israel in 1936. After taking part in the struggle for independence, he helped to found a kibbutz in Galilee in 1949, and started taking pictures there soon after.
